 Background:

Under the general direction of the COVID-19 Immunization Project Manager, the vaccination coordinator will develop processes and manage day-to-day operations to improve the quality and quantity of communication to enhance informed COVID-19 vaccine uptake decision-making by the targeted population in Khartoum with the aim to achieve an increased utilization rate of the supplied vaccines. He/she will supervise and manage our mobile vaccination programme and regularly report to the health project manager. The mobile bus service is used to provide mass vaccination services to reach the vulnerable/ unvaccinated population.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for providing direct line management to the team of staff on the mobile vaccination service, as well as overseeing the delivery of a safe immunization service in line with local and national requirements.
  2. Provide coordination, clinical support and direction to the team on a daily basis, aiming to ensure high standards of clinical application. Comply with the recommended emergency procedures related to the safe keeping of vaccines.
  3. At times you may also be responsible for the supervision of clinical assessment prior to the vaccination and the safe delivery of the vaccine. You may also be required to supervise and coordinate the vaccine preparation (drawing up, ensuring correct storage and providing injections to the vaccination station).
  4. You will assist with the overall management and coordination of the team and day to day delivery of the vaccinations, ensuring the inject areas/ temporary rooms and equipment within your own area are prepared with sufficient clinical (vaccine/vaccine complementary) supplies. Perform inventory and stock rotation routinely as recommended.
  5. Develop a detailed implementation plan based on the National Communication and Demand generation plan for COVID-19 vaccine campaign.
  6. With support from the Health project manager, regularly work with the RCCE team to strategically improve/increase C-19 immunisation coverage.
  7. Regularly consult the C-19 vaccine demand generation committees, and attend monthly meetings at community level with the aim to to strategically improve/increase C-19 immunisation coverage.
  8. Conducts regular analysis to identify communities with unmet need/low utility. Review and perform Reminder/Recall for partially vaccinated ones who are not up-to-date on all recommended vaccines.
  9. Work to ensure that project activities will be implemented in accordance with the National MoH (NMoH) strategic plan and donors’ policies.
  10. Regularly liaise with the other ministries - Ministry of Information, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, communities' leaders of the targeted localities, and other key actors like local, national and international civil society.
  11. Work with the Logistics teams to manage all related materials. 12. Adopt the five qualities of data record. Ensure accurate and timely reporting.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Registered nurse
  • Two years of progressive operational or administrative experience in primary health care (immunization); with One year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience working on complex projects that change regularly.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and cultures.
  • Basic proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software including 365 programs.
  • Knowledge of immunization programs and vaccine safety systems.
  • Ability to write and speak in fluent English.
  • Ability to provide operations/logistics expertise, technical, and administrative assistance to a healthcare team.
