Background:
NCA has a long-term commitment to Sudan, starting in 1972 with a sizeable multi-sectoral programme. The organisation has since expanded the geographical scope to respond to long-term development and humanitarian needs in Darfur, Greater Kordofan, the White Nile, Khartoum, and Gedaref. NCA Sudan recently developed a new country strategy for the period 2020-2024, including country programming within Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Climate Resilient WASH, Climate SMART Economic Empowerment, Food security and Livelihood and Health. Strengthening civil society is a key cross-cutting goal. NCA is one of few INGOs with a clear mandate addressing GBV and gender equality in Sudan, with representation in the National Task Force on FGM/C, in relevant protection and GBV clusters and as a direct partner to UNFPA, UNICEF and UNHCR. In late 2021 NCA started a project addressing Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and Child Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM) in Central Darfur and South Kordofan. NCA is seeking an experienced candidate to ensure a strong start-up and implementation of this project.
