 Duties and responsibilities:

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

 

  • Accomplishes construction works by drafting specifications sketches, recommend suppliers/contractors, scheduling, communicating job expectations; planning, and monitoring in accordance with SCI policies and procedures.
  • Technically manages contractors by locating, evaluating, and is involved in selecting sub-contractors; monitoring and controlling performance.
  • Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing quality and beneficiary/partner-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.
  • Build up materials and labor estimation costs in accordance with budgets, procurement, and other criteria to accomplish project results; identifying technical specification, accurate quantities connecting variances, and implementing corrective actions
  • Identify and allocate possible available resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and contractors, evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions, resolving design problems
  • Approves construction projects by conducting inspections at critical phases; obtaining approvals from beneficiaries before taking over from contractors/suppliers
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations at local and national levels.
  • Updates job knowledge by tracking and understanding emerging construction practices and standards; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional discussions.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing high standard job; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Frequently visit and monitor all construction works within the different sectors.
  • Maintain frequent updates and reports on works progress or delays in implementation schedule.

Child Safeguarding

  • Act as an ambassador for child safeguarding in both your professional and personal life. Never abuse your position of trust and authority.
  • Keeping children we work with safe from deliberate harm/risk or inadvertent harm/risk. This is a top organizational and personal commitment, and the standards of behaviour towards children expected by the organization should reflect both in your personal and professional life.

·         Behave towards children in a way, which reflects the Code of Conduct, CSG Code of Conduct and Child Safeguarding Policy.

·         Report any CSG issues or concerns in a timely way according to the Country reporting system and procedures. (At least two reports per year). Ask if unclear on anything to do with child safeguarding, such as which concerns should be reported, how to report concerns and how to respond to them.

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

QUALIFICATIONS  AND EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • University degree in Ccivil Eengineering
  • At least 2 years of progressively working in construction supervision
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Arabic

Desireable

  • Willingness to learn and share information
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team. 
  • Good computer skills in MS packages (Computer Applications; word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
