Background: The International Republican Institute (IRI) is a Washington, D.C. based nonpartisan, non-governmental organization dedicated to advancing democracy worldwide by developing political parties, civic institutions, open elections, democratic governance, and the rule of law. IRI provides technical assistance in the areas of political party strengthening, developing civic institutions and open elections, promoting democratic governance and advancing the rule of law. In Sudan, as a partner in the Improving Electoral and Political Process for Change in Sudan program, International Republican Institute works with partners to enhance the responsiveness and accountability of governance institutions, improve political party inclusiveness and capacity to conduct issue-based, citizen-responsive campaigns, and to enhance the participation of citizens, civil society, media and other stakeholders in electoral and political processes. IRI needs a local Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist to perform programmatic duties on a full-time employment basis.
POSITION: Field-based Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Specialist
Job Summary: The Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Specialist is primarily responsible for providing data collection, management, organization and analysis support to the projects and program staff in Sudan. The MEL Specialist also serves as the coordinator for all reports from Sudan to headquarters in Washington, DC and to the funder. This includes collating and ensuring the quality of data reported in PMPs and all other similar indices. The MEL Specialist will liaise with staff in IRI’s Washington, DC headquarters to answer questions and fulfill requests related to MEL activities, data collection and similar issues related to the programming in Sudan. The MEL Specialist may also be expected to provide training and capacity building support to IRI staff and partners on MEL topics. Every employee of IRI is responsible for carrying out the mission of IRI, and demonstrating the core values in their day to day operations. |
