 Vacancy No: 160921_6
Section/Unit: MSF Belgium - El Damazine
 Grade Level: 4
 Supervisor: Watsan Manager
 No. of Post: 1
 Duty Station: El Damazine
 Duration: n/a
 Closing Date: 30 Sept 2021

 Background:

In May 2020 MSF signed for 06 moths a Technical agreement with MoH authorities to work in DAMAZIN hospital, specifically in the Nutrition ward and do possible intervention outside of the city, considering that the population is quite vulnerable to Malaria, Malnutrition and lack of access to health services. Due a delayed arrival of MSF  TEAM members in the project and short TA assignment, only part of objectives has been delivered. MSF also changed the intention from a short assignment in BNS to a long term commitment for 2022/2023 and 2024.

Considering that there are conflicts along the Ethiopian border and clashes in Kassala and Red Sea state to the north-east, so there are chances to have some refugees in Blue Nile state but unlikely inside of Damazin area. The military actors signed a peace agreement in BNS, except SPLM-N. This situation brings no access to BNS’s south part, where it is expected to have a huge movement of IDPs/Refugees from Maban Area – South Sudan. As this Maban area is still assisted from South Sudan access and there is an uncertainty about when SPLM will sign the peace agreement, MSF team in DAMAZIN can find more areas to make assessments, especially areas around Kirmuk (Sudan’s side), according to the permission given by authorities and local leaders. One of biggest challenge is to access the areas during the raining season, when the needs are higher.
