 Background:

DT Global (DTG) is an implementing partner for USAID Project – Toward Enduring Peace in Sudan (TEPS).



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

The deputy project leader (DPL) will be responsible for supporting the Project team leader in achieving the timely completion of all the major project activities and safeguarding the quality of the deliverables for the Effective Governance and Policies to Promote Economic Growth and Peace project in Delta Gash.


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support the development of relevant research approaches and methods and coordinate focus group discussions, interviews, brainstorm sessions, workshops, and all studies and events tailored at developing varied options for Delta Gash wide governance system as well as policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate capacity needs assessment, trainings, and awareness creation activities
  • Document and prepare synthesis reports for all major project activity packages
  • Contribute to the analysis of governance system, policies, and regulations and their linkages to economic growth and livelihoods

Support the project leader and undertake all delegated responsibilities


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

The DPL must be an individual with sound judgment, good communication, and who is comfortable working with local communities and various different groups. To be selected, the individual must meet the following minimum qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in socio-economic studies, planning and development studies, or other related fields.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in of the following areas:
    - Coordination of development projects in Sudan that involved multiple national and international stakeholders
    - Reviewing, preparing, and documenting project progress reports
    - Community awareness creation and participation
    - Organizing trainings, workshops, and similar large-scale events
    - Knowledge of processes and approaches to link strategies and policies to economic growth and livelihood improvement
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic required and high-level of proficiency in written and spoken English desired
  • Knowledge of MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS and MS project and Quick book
  • Capable of quickly performing multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritizing and meeting deadlines

High level of comfort in working in the field and operating independently, as well as within a team
