 Background:

DT Global (DTG) is an implementing partner for USAID Project – Toward Enduring Peace in Sudan (TEPS).



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

The project team leader (PTL) will be responsible for guiding the timely completion of all the major project activities and safeguarding the quality of the deliverables for the Effective Governance and Policies to Promote Economic Growth and Peace project in Delta Gash.


Specific responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and follow-up the implementation of results-oriented work plans and budget
  • Overall guidance for successful organization and completion of all major stakeholder events including the inception and closing workshops
  • Lead the organization of the workshops and all other activities dedicated for drafting the governance system, policies, and regulations
  • Maintain good relationship with key partners and community leaders through regular communications and outreach, formal and informal meetings
  • Anticipate project implementation challenges and accordingly formulate mitigation measures
  • Timely review all activity package reports, deliver brief monthly and detailed quarterly project progress reports
  • Prepare project completion report that communicates all major achievements, challenges, lessons learned, and follow-up plans
  • Conduct regular meetings with core project team members to timely address any major technical and non-technical issues that may emerge. USAID partners are invited to attend such meetings

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

The PTL must be an individual with sound judgment, good communication, and who is comfortable working with local communities and various different groups.  To be selected, the individual must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in irrigation and water resources management or other related fields.
  • At least 7 year of work experience in planning and implementing projects and programs that addressed at least two of the following thematic areas:
    - Water governance issues that involved multiple partners with competing needs and priorities
    - Rehabilitation of irrigation, water supply, and water resources management systems
    - Community mobilization and partnership building
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic required and high level of proficiency in written and spoken English desired
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Excel, WORD, and Outlook
  • Team player and interpersonal skills
  • Output oriented leadership qualities
  • Capable of quickly performing multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritizing and meeting deadlines
  • High level of comfort in working in the field and operating independently, as well as within a team
