Background:

AirOps Officer 3 is responsible for coordinating ground operations to ensure proper transport of passengers, luggage, cargo and diplomatic mail.

Duties and responsibilities:

Coordinates all ramp activities and aircraft ground operations, including the movement of passengers, luggage, cargo and diplomatic mail through customs and immigration.

Supervises loading, unloading and fuelling of ICRC aircraft and ad hoc charter planes from local operators.

Obtains airport passes for ICRC personnel and vehicles; keeps track of crew rotation and/or amendments to airport operating procedures, security rules and access rights.

Processes all passenger and cargo booking requests through the ICRC Air Operations Management System (AOMS).

Transmits all relevant communication related to flight tasking and keeps the AirOps Manager informed of delays, irregularities and security issues that might affect ICRC aircraft and passengers.

Analyses the local/regional air-transport market, issues ad hoc aircraft tenders and makes sure ICRC purchasing procedures are adhered to.

Analyses, prepares and checks all billing and expenditures relating to ICRC air operations and compiles supporting documents/vouchers for the AirOps Manager.

Keeps AirOps statistics, reporting and documentation up to date.

Trains and coaches ground staff in aircraft handling procedures.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
-
Bachelor's or equivalent university degree in air transportation, or a combination of education, professional training, certification in air transportation and experience in a related job, such as safety and maintenance or air traffic control.

Additional vocational training in logistics or aviation an asset.
-
Professional experience in a field related to air transportation.
-
Minimum 6 years' relevant professional experience at an airline, flight department or airport.

Experience working with a humanitarian agency an asset.
-
Managerial experience in air charter operations an asset.
-
Knowledge of technical aviation terminology.
-
Fluent command of spoken and written English.
-
Advanced computer skills including working knowledge of Flight planning and Flight Departure Control systems.

Valid driving licence for light vehicles.
