 Duties and responsibilities:

Key Areas of Accountability:

Proposal development:

  • Review and summarise key call for proposals for presentation to the technical team
  • Support the development of administrative documents for the proposal development process
  • Prepare and format donor templates for completion by the technical and finance teams
  • Active writing on (parts of) various proposals to institutional (including ECHO, EU, UN Agency, OFDA, BMZ, SIDA) and non-institutional (including foundation and internal funding) proposals
  • Ensure alignment of documents for specific proposals and support proofreading with a critical eye
  • Gather and coordinate inputs and feedback from internal stakeholders within Save the Children and provide regular updates on the progress
  • Support coordination with Save the Children Member organizations
  • Document minutes from meetings with the Members and partners on proposal development
  • Coordinate the revision and response to questions, comments, and feedback from partners and members
  • Support technical specialists in needs assessment and data collection to inform project design.
  • Support pipeline management, including updating the fund tracker on a weekly basis,
  • Database management, ensure all proposals final documents are stored in the Business development SharePoint.
  • Prepare and manage the handover of successful proposals and inform concerned departments.

  • Any other tasks as delegated by the Head of Programme Development

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University degree in Politics, Social Science, Education, International Development, or other relevant subject
  • Experience of leading the preparation of successful funding (narrative and budget) proposals
  • Experience of budget management and development
  • Previous experience of project management and project cycle management, including project design, implementation and evaluation
  • Highly developed interpersonal and English communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic planning abilities. Computer literacy and excellent documentation skills are a must
  • Ability to proactively identify issues and problem-solving skills to address these
  • Ability to establish and maintain conducive collegial relations and perform effectively as a member of a team
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Excellent time management and planning capacity
  • Availability and willingness to work extra hours during times of humanitarian responses
