SEARCH FOR COMMON GROUND is the largest dedicated peacebuilding organization.
Since 1982, we have worked to end violent conflict and to build healthy, safe, and just societies all over the world. Currently, we work in 31 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
OUR MISSION is to transform the way the world deals with conflict, away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions.
WE BELIEVE that conflict is inevitable but violence is not. Conflict is a natural result of human diversity. When we deal with conflict adversarially, it generates polarization and violence. When we collaborate, conflict catalyzes positive change.
OUR VISION is a world where cooperation is the norm—where differences stimulate social progress, rather than precipitate violence.
Background: Search for Common Ground (Search) is one of the largest international NGOs working on peacebuilding and conflict transformation. We have 36 offices around the world with over 600 staff. Since 2009, Search has worked in Sudan in the peripheral states of South and West Kordofan, and has recently expanded to Blue Nile, Gedaref, Kassala, and South Darfur.
Search-Sudan’s efforts center around two primary objectives: strengthening social cohesion and building local peacebuilding and reconciliation initiatives. Search is full of committed, enthusiastic and talented individuals. It is a fun place to work and an exciting place to learn, offering a rich range of opportunities.
