At WFP, we are looking for experienced Logistics Assistants, to join our Logistics teams in  Elfasher (Fixed Term), Nyala (Service Contract), and El Geneina (02 Service Contract positions) to be hired on a Fixed Term Contract or Service Contract at G5 or SC5 level as indicated. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

To implement well-defined standard logistics/supply chain processes and activities to enable effective delivery of goods and services for all delivery modalities. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  

  • Participate and conduct food retail supply chain and markets assessments.
  • Perform redeemed vouchers reconciliation.
  • Participate in paper voucher disposal as per standard operating procedures.
  • In coordination with procurement, maintain retail tracking database at area office level and monitor/track retailers’ performances in coordination with partners, and based on well-established key performance indicators,
  • Perform and coordinate food quality control activities, and manage the mobile point of sales (mPOS) equipment concerns in coordination with IT.
  • Perform reconciliations of wholesalers/retailer’s transactions data, verify and process retailers’ invoices, and process payment requests;
  • Gather information with clear direction to support the drafting of documents and preparing reports by other staff;
  • Participate in Monthly Price and Market monitoring surveys in coordination with Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) unit.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in areas related to Logistics and Supply Chain such as in Stores Management, Statistics, Business Administration or any other field related to Logistics.

 

Experience: At least Four years of progressive working experience in of relevant experience in the field of cash based transfers, procurement, logistics, supply chain, transport, operations, retail, wholesaler, food trading, business administration, project management, engineering or other related field is desirable


Language: Fluency in English and Arabic

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Attention to details and meticulous
  • Ability to adapt and respond quickly to various stakeholders’ requests.
  • Ability to demonstrate a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, and courtesy. 
  • Mature judgment with good communication and interpersonal skills


 

DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

• Experience using corporate systems to monitor ongoing shipments, pipeline information, insurance claims, and food stock.
• Experience analysing data (on commodities, funds, etc.) and drafting reports.
• Experience in measuring service providers’ performance against set KPIs.
• Experience in assisting the preparation of contract documentation.
• Experience in providing technical business support in corporate systems.
