Introduction to NCA:
Norwegian Church Aid ('NCA') works together with people and organizations across the world in 32 countries to eradicate poverty and injustice. We provide emergency assistance in disasters and work for long-term development in local communities. Our primary areas of focus are the combatting of Gender Based Violence (GBV); Climate Resilient WASH; Climate SMART Economic Empowerment; and Health. Strengthening of civil society is also an important cross-cutting global goal. NCA is a member of the ACT Alliance, one of the world's largest humanitarian alliances. Introduction to the Country Office:
Norwegian church Aid is in Sudan since 1972 and works in the fields of relief, rehabilitation, and development, and works through national partners.
NCA’s Country Office is currently in Port Sudan. It has a Field Office in Al-Gadarif, Al-Gadarif State, where its projects activities encompass GBV, Climate Resilient WASH, Climate Smart Economic Empowerment, and Health. As well, its projects activities in Kosti, White Nile State are implemented by the national partners

Duties and responsibilities: Programme Quality: Representing the GBV thematic area in NCA’s integrated programme approach, ensuring GBV is an integral part of the overall programmes and that synergies with other thematic sectors are utilised. Facilitate both internal and external trainings and technical support to NCA Programmes, NCA’s partner organisations, line-ministries, and other relevant bodies with the aim of increasing awareness and technical knowledge related to the GBV thematic area. Responsible for ongoing monitoring of the programme through maintaining programme data; annual evaluations, both internal and external; and regular reflections on lessons learnt. Close collaboration with NCA’s M&E team is expected. Ensuring that NCA’s GBV programme interventions are cultural sensitive, and always respects the dignity of the persons and communities the programme aims to serve. Ensuring that NCA’s GBV programme is in line with the sector’s best practice, within Sudan’s national GBV framework, and has a solid foundation in documented and proven approaches. Develop strategy for utilisation of community volunteers, in line with the strategies of NCA’s other thematic areas, ensuring the volunteers receive the attention and training required to ensure sound representation while carrying out their commitments.
