Senior Project Planner and Cost Controller

 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all project budget, invoicing, cost forecasting as well as Plans & Schedules for the entire engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) life cycle.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for all cost, schedule, planning, risk control/reporting project functions.
  • As a member of the PMO team develop and implement project controls strategy and integrate into Project Execution Plan
  • Develop and report key performance indicators to measure the performance of engineering project cost and schedule adherence
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain detailed project schedules/project portfolio within Oracle Primavera P6
  • Facilitate project constructability, value engineering as well as alignment of cost & schedule data.
  • Lead efforts with estimating, procurement and project management on project scope coordination, work package definition, contract development and bid analysis.
  • Evaluate existing cost control methods. Make recommendations for improving procedures, systems and tools. Implement improvements as appropriate.
  • Setting up, monitoring, and controlling projects using Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Assist the Project Managers in the preparation of the Budget and the Forecast for the Projects in accordance with the agreed cost codes structures and with the support of the other Departments;
  • Deploy a project cost-tracking system and develop customized management reports in accordance with the company’s cost control requirements.
  • Produce regular cost reports and advise project managers of any forecast cost overruns as soon as possible to facilitate corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Support the Project Manager in the decision-making process by providing analysis on the performance trends
  • Collect, review and assess project cost commitment and expenditure information across multiple projects to ensure accuracy and consistency for input into the company’s control model.
  • Track, Analyze and Report: project budgets, commitments, value of work done, actuals, forecasts, variances and project change management on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Developing standard EVM reporting formats
  • Liaison with project team members and other departments to review and analyze cost data. Ensure accuracy and consistency of data for the purpose of project cost tracking and forecasting.
  • Maintain project cost control systems and tools including electronic project files.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • B.Sc. in Engineering discipline and equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Project Planning and Cost Controlling on engineering industry
  • Expertise using Microsoft Excel, Primavera P6 and MS Project
  • Analytical skills and orientation to details
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Basic accounting knowledge and controlling principles
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver quality results in fast paced work environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Team spirit
