Duties and responsibilities:

Supporting in a close follow up of the National Drug Supply particularly in projects where MSF is working in conjunction with MoH. Collaborating in budgeting and preparing drug and other medical material orders together with Mission Pharmacy Manager

Support in supervising the running of the pharmacies and medical stocks across the mission, ensuring the proper implementation of MSF Safety standards, incl. pharmacovigilance follow up and waste management protocols, and to national and international legislation, in order to ensure the quality of the service given to the population and the accurate handling of drugs and medical products, including its proper disposal, in terms of hygiene and security.

Close involvement in the medical warehouse as regards procedures, operations and medical stock management but not direct supervision to supply department.

Supporting the Mission Pharmacy Manager regarding the follow-up of EPREP planning and maintenance of medical emergency kits.

To promote good Project Stock Management: Perform regular analysis of mission pharmacy stocks with clear management strategies shared with Mission Pharmacy Manager on stock status: shortages, sleeping stock, overstock, pre expiring, expired (preparation for destruction) support field teams for day to day operations on Isystock, Medorder and pharmacy stock management in general, and provide support and direction to the fields for in country orders and to follow with supply department for the preparations and deliveries processes until the reception feedback.

Supporting on local purchase procedures and facilitate required pre clearance documents for cargoes reception. Follow up on projects monthly analysis reports and ensure they are received and analysed in coordination on time. To ensure that all local purchase orders are placed on time to partners (eg NMSF,) and follow up with the fields in terms of collection needed information for HQ

Participate in regular technical visits to project sites to ensure appropriate follow up of activities and management of field pharmacies; collecting and analysing stock indicators according to physical records and logistic across different projects and together with Mission pharmacy manager and Medical Coordinator taking corrective decisions when necessary and providing technical pharmacy support regarding pharmaceutical information, medication use (protocols and rational drug use), management of side effects, adherence issues etc.

Supporting and facilitating correct stock management and transport/storage procedures, in order to ensure the availability of stock in all projects and to avoid expiries/overstocks and stock-outs. Ensuring that all inventories of drugs and medical devices exist and are updated.

Participating in reporting according to MSF guidelines (SitReps, medical statistical reports, etc.) and reporting on drug consumption and medical devices dispensed according to protocols, informing on unusual patterns.
Project support on:

Set up pharmacy (space, place, equipments, air conditionning, …) with log+pharmacy team+Mission Pharmacy Manager and Medco

Inventory activities whenever requested

Participation in preparation of International Orders process

Field visits on regular basis or upon request.

Dispoasl procedures of expired drugs from the projects levels until they reach coordination for destruction following national regulation on waste managemet and MSF policy.

Technical support back up upon request from supply team for inventory, International order reception.

Staff health order preparation and follow up up to the reception and management.

Followp and updatig all emergency boxes and first aid kits on regular basis

Analysis and follow up of EPREP stock in the Mission (KH, ED, KRT & SK) every month and ensure stock replenishment(KH) ,stock- rotation of pre-expiring items in collaboration with supply team and project Pharmacy supervisors/storekeepers by following MSF protocols and guidelines

Participating in monthly mission stock visibility analysis and sitrep

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Education
|
Essential: pharmacy degree (or equivalent 4-5 years diploma according to the country of origin of the pharmacist)

Experience
|
Essential demonstrated one year experience in (hospital/health care facility) pharmacy management, previous experience with MSF or other NGO’s in developing countries is desirable

Languages
