Duties and responsibilities: Under the generanl supervision of the Chief of Staff, the Associate Field Translator will be responsible for the following duties:

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: Education: A first level degree from a university or an institution of equivalent status, and the degree of specialization required.
Work Experience: A minimum of two years of progressively responsible relevant experience in translation.
Languages: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. Fluency in English and Arabic (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of the other is desirable. Fluency of the local language(s) to be able to translate/interpret into English and visa versa is required.
Knowledge of a second language commonly spoken in Sudan is desirable.
