Job Overview: 

 

The Reproductive Health (RH) Officer will support the implementation of reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health (RMNCAH) services in IRC-supported programs in supported state. Working under the supervision of the RH Manager and reported filed health manager, the Officer will ensure the delivery of high-quality, comprehensive reproductive health services to women and men of reproductive age. The role focuses on direct program implementation, technical support, data management, and coordination with local health authorities and community stakeholders.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Program Implementation 

  • Support the delivery of RMNCAH services in IRC-supported health facilities and outreach programs.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, protocols, and national guidelines for reproductive health service delivery.
  • Conduct regular needs assessments and provide feedback to the RH Manager on service gaps and challenges.
  • Participate in capacity-building activities including trainings, mentorship, and coaching of health staff.
  • Carry out supportive supervision visits to health facilities to monitor service quality and provide technical guidance.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Oversee accurate recording and reporting of reproductive health data in supported facilities.
  • Compile, verify, and submit timely RH reports to HIS team after check it with RH Manager and Health manager.
  • Assist in monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to program reviews and learning activities.

Coordination & Representation

  • Liaise with local health authorities, community leaders, and other partners to strengthen linkages between IRC programs and government services.
  • Represent IRC at relevant coordination meetings and technical working groups as delegated by the RH Manager or health manager.
  • Support community engagement activities to promote awareness and utilization of reproductive health services.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess progress and identify implementation challenges.
  • Document lessons learned, success stories, and good practices for sharing with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with donor and IRC monitoring requirements.

Other Duties

  • Travel to field sites as required for program support and supervision.
  • Monitor safety and security conditions for field teams and promptly report concerns.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the RH /Health Manager to support program objectives.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Nursing, or Midwifery or relevant studies.
  • Licenses to practice as a doctor, nurse or midwife in Sudan.  

 

Work Experience: 

 

Minimum 2–3 years of experience in implementing sexual and reproductive health programs, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.

 

Demonstratable experience & skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of RMNCAH services.
  • Experience in capacity building and supportive supervision.
  • Good data management and reporting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Team player, adaptable, able to work under pressure, and sensitive to cultural and political contexts.

 

Working Environment:  

Primarily the Reproductive Health Officer will be working in an office environment in Khartoum with regular travels to all supported field locations, health facilities and other program areas in the state.
