 Background:

The P&C Coordinator Staff Benefits, HRIS & Staff Care is responsible to implement WV Sudan’s total rewards strategy and ensure a meaningful employee value proposition and an excellent employee experience. S/he will provide technical subject matter expertise, consultation and advice to People & Culture team and managers on compensation & benefits programs, policies and packages for all categories of staff. S/he will ensure that compensation and benefits programs are aligned to the Total Rewards Philosophy and are competitively positioned within the local and international labour markets. S/he will ensure the effective administration of compensation and benefit programmes and facilitate the understanding of these programmes through on-going communication, policy, and process development

 

Additionally, S/he will be the centre of expertise on HRIS and staff care issues.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Management of National Staff Benefits, payroll and compensation processes. 

  • Manage end to end National staff payroll process to ensure completeness
  • Ensure accuracy and all approvals are obtained before release of the payroll
  • Process and categorise all staff types and prepare their payrolls accordingly
  • Ensure that staff receive payslips monthly
  • Provide thought leadership as an internal expert on all total reward matters.
  • Analyse, recommend, and implement compensation and benefits best practices, trends and cost-effective programs that are relevant and meaningful for World Vision Sudan and various staff demographics – including regular review external market data and participation in market surveys.
  • Analyse staff feedback and retention data to ensure current total rewards programs are meeting staff needs and providing a meaningful employee value proposition.
  • Ensure total reward program compliance with local legislative & governing body requirements.
  • Coordinate staff communication and campaigns regarding total reward programs and changes.

Management of HRIS

  • Review National staff & IAs staff data in WD for accuracy and consistency. 
  • Monthly reconciliation between payroll and WD to ensure accurate headcount
  • Generate reports from the IS for the management and other stake holders use
  • Provide orientation to New staff – National staff & IS
  • Ensure 100% utilisation of WD on all modules staff payroll and compensation aspects

Benefits/Pension/Wellness/Staff Care

  • Provide strategic oversight in the administration of benefits for all employee life cycle changes (local & IAs)
  • Promote stewardship by maintaining good benefits & pension vendor & broker relationships, conducting vendor assessments as needed.
  • Design and develop staff care & wellness programs that ensure staff feel cared for and supported including functional oversight of employee assistance program for fragile context (Emergency Response) environments, disability management program and negotiate discounted rates with local service providers
  • Coordinate an annual staff wellness programme that should be able to focus on all staff wellness needs
  • Organise staff care activities for Nairobi based staff share quarterly a summary report of all the activities covered.
    • Organise monthly birthday celebrations
    • Share/circulate emails on bereavement cases, call the affected staff and share condolences and assess their situation.
    • Organise farewell for separating staff
    • Circulate a congratulatory email for new born babies.

External Engagement 

  • Participate in local salary survey reviews with similar INGOs
  • Maintain intelligence of changes in local business environment that may negatively impact WV Sudan employee salary and benefits
  • Keep abreast of new developments and innovations in the local and global total rewards centre of expertise

Employee Services

  • Partner and collaborate with Zonal P7C Coordinators for excellence in support
  • Respond to Total Rewards related Help Desk queries and ensure staff have easy access to total rewards policies and guidelines
  • Design and develop benefit orientation programs for new hires
  • Partner with L&D to conduct benefit orientation refresher training for all categories of staff

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Compensation and/or Benefits & Pension certification.
  • 5+ years of experience in facilitating a meaningful total rewards program.
  • Technical knowledge in HRIS systems (Workday).
  • Strong collaboration, project management & communication skills, experience working in an Agile environment preferred.
  • Strong analysis, critical thinking, problem solving, and discretion with highly confidential and sensitive personnel information.
  • University Degree in Human Resource Management, Business, or other related field;
  • Certified Compensation Professional, Global Remuneration Professional or equivalent certification in compensation and/or Total Rewards
  • Certification/course work in point factor job evaluations - Hay Job Evaluation certification preferred
  • Must be a committed 
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment 

  • Internal travel to WVS programs. 
  • Occasional international travel 
  • English language – written and spoken proficiency
