WHO WE ARE

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide protection and humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

THE PURPOSE

The Security Guards Team Leader provides and maintains security in assigned premises and supervises a small team of Security Guards

Under the supervision of the Safety and Security Officer: 

• Coordinates, manages and supervises a team of guards responsible for security in ICRC premises. As a member of the team, works as a guard when required.
• Ensures that the guards under responsibility do their work properly, report on time, do not leave their posts before their shift is over and do not sleep while on duty.
• Ensures that the guards respect the premises' security rules.
• Makes sure that security-related equipment is kept in good working order.
• Provides guidance and training on security guidelines.
• Organizes and supervises shifts, duty rosters and holiday replacements; registers staff absences and finds substitutes whenever needed.

• Sudanese nationality
• Secondary school education
• 1 year's work experience in a similar field of activity. Knowledge of security equipment.
• Experience in security, safety management, premises protection or any related field is an asset.
• Skilled in Security Awareness & Response
• Knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic.
• Computer literacy
• Good physical condition
