The Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA) is a coalition of civil society organizations from Sudan, South Sudan, Uganda, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia and Somaliland. SIHA was founded in 1995 by a collection of women\'s groups with the view of strengthening the capacities of women organizations in the Horn of Africa countries. SIHA advocates for social change and gender equality for men and women in the Horn region and works specifically on: gender equality, women rights activism, women economic empowerment, eliminating violence against women and girls, promoting human rights, peace building and conflict transformation, enhancing women’s leadership and political participation and the production and dissemination of knowledge.  Background:

SIHA Network is seeking a skilled and motivated Project Associate to join our dynamic team in Sudan. The successful candidate will play a dual role leveraging advanced data analysis capabilities to enhance the quality of SIHA’s Early Warning and Emergency Response (EWER) system, while also supporting project implementation, reporting, and capacity building across SIHA Sudan’s operations. 

  

This position is central to ensuring evidence-based programming, identifying trends in Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), and strengthening SIHA’s program delivery and advocacy through accurate data and quality reporting. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Conduct in-depth analysis of SGBV data collected through the EWER system to uncover trends and anomalies.  

Apply statistical and qualitative methods to interpret findings and develop actionable recommendations. 

Develop and maintain data dashboards and visualization tools to present insights clearly and effectively. 

Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of collected data in line with SIHA’s protocols 

Support SIHA Sudan teams in the strategic planning and implementation of projects to ensure impact and accountability. 

Strengthen program quality assurance measures across all interventions. 

Contribute to the development of high-quality reports, research papers, and advocacy materials. 

Support field teams in timely and effective reporting of activities and documentation. 

Provide technical input to build the analytical and reporting capacities of staff and partners.  

Identify capacity building opportunities and contribute to staff development planning  


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Qualifications , skills and experince : 

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, public health, development studies, or related field. A Master’s degree is a strong asset. 

At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, project implementation, or M&E in the humanitarian or development sectors. 

Demonstrated knowledge of SGBV issues and gender-sensitive programming. 

Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SPSS, or other statistical and visualization tools. 

Excellent writing, reporting, and communication skills. 

Experience in training or capacity building is an advantage. 

Strong commitment to human rights, gender equality, and social justice.
