The HIS Officer will work under the direction of senior health manager/Health and Nutrition coordinator. The HIS Officer     primary responsibilities include providing oversight of all health and nutrition projects data all over Sudan project sites  with up to date updated information and submitted all required data needed for the reports and indicators trackers.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  •  Lead management of the data collection tools
  • Lead and Management of HIS components such as (Software, Users, Reports) and data management tools which comprises all clinics beneficiary’s data compiled by data entry operators daily.
  • Create and develop weekly data reports using 
  • Trouble shoot day-to-day issues faced by health program, including tablet and software assistance and data analysis.
  • Ensure quality information management systems and a proper performance of the ICT infrastructure or the community health program
  • Provide support on preparing monthly internal and external technical reports, and works closely with Health manager to submit correct, timely reports
  • Provide data visualization: Power BI, Tableau and DHIS dashboards, tables, charts, GIS maps
  • Provide info management services to support CHV monitoring activities
  • In collaboration with the health management plan for all information products (e.g. situation reports, data, maps).
  • Apply   standards, policies and procedures to guide related information management
  •   Ensure strong data quality.
  • Create map layouts, map templates, map icons, generate maps, generate reports and insure that the maps and reports are stored in the database correctly.
  • Develop new applications, tools, techniques or methods to improve workflow and train others in their use.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education: University degree in information management/technology and systems, computer science, data science or a related field

 

Work Experience: Minimum 2-4 years previous experience working with information systems management, monitoring and evaluation, database development and management; NGO experience is an advantage. Statistics, data analysis are all relevant areas of experience.

 

Demonstrated skills and competencies 

  • Proven experience with tools like Power BI, COMM Care, Tableau, DHIS, and Excel.
  • Experience with descriptive data analysis and/or data management
  • Able to think critically about data and information, triangulating and cross-checking data when needed and with minimal guidance
  • Excellent visual design sense regarding clear and accurate presentation of data.
  • Strong computer literacy with Microsoft Office (in particular, Excel)
  • Very good analytical and reporting skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good social skills and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently. 
  • Good in written and spoken English 
  • Sudanese national
