Main Purpose of Job: 

The Clinic laboratory technician will work under the IRC medical doctor in Mayo clininc to provide delay lab service, he/she will work with team provide the services to the patient using the MOH and WHO standard.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Collecting, receiving, labeling, and/or analyzing samples or substances using the correct testing equipment.
  • Designing and executing laboratory testing in line with standard testing procedures, recording observations, and interpreting findings.
  • Recording all experimental data and test results accurately and in the specified format (written and/or electronic.)
  • Organizing and storing all chemical substances, fluids, and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
  • Ensuring that safety guidelines are always adhered to within the laboratory.
  • Maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.
  • Cleaning, sterilizing, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment.
  • Ordering laboratory supplies, as needed.
  • Providing technical support, to the Lab assistants and interns when necessary.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments

Other 

  • Taking blood, vaginal and urethral samples.
  • Centrifuge blood and urine samples.
  • Perform laboratory exams (serology, hematology, biochemistry, bacteriology or parasitological, according to context of the mission).
  • Ensure proper reporting and registration of the sample results in order to keep a written track of activity and give information to the relevant persons, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Take care, manage and organize efficiently the laboratory material/equipment:
  • Apply hygiene and safety protocols, doing daily cleaning /maintenance, sterilization, washing general glassware after procedures are done.
  • Ensuring proper sample waste disposal according to WHO/IRC protocols and highest safety standards.
  • Supply orders, do stock, storage conditions follow-up, keep inventory.
  • Keep organized the data collection system of laboratory results and all information generated from the analysis done.
  • Report all relevant information linked to the activity in the laboratory to the line manager, especially the loss/robbery/damage of laboratory equipment or medicines

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education: Degree on clinical laboratory 

Work Experience: working on health facility lab  

Language Skills: Arabic local languages, English
