Duties and responsibilities:
- Identifying, monitoring, and analyzing political, economic, and security developments, trends, and emerging issues in the assigned location.
- Preparing weekly updates, in format determined by TNS, capturing political and security highlights, relevant events or initiatives (including those planned and conducted by other partners), summarizing meetings held/events attended, and recommending potential follow up and/or opportunities for TNS engagement.
- Networking and actor mapping to identify key political actors, influential stakeholders, civil society actors, and others relevant to the program’s priorities.
- Participating in, attending, and/or arranging, as appropriate and in coordination with other TNS staff, relevant partner meetings, working groups, regional planning meetings, and other events taking place in the assigned location.
- Providing support to TNS staff and partners for outreach activities, such as training events, workshops, seminars, or others, and presenting the TNS program to local actors if/as required.
- Assisting TNS program staff in developing activity concepts, as directed by supervisor (i.e., providing input on implementation approaches, collecting data for granting mechanisms, or other inputs).
- Facilitating planning, reporting, monitoring, and other support as needed for TNS-funded activities in assigned location(s) and providing logistic, coordination, and/or other support to TNS staff and/or consultants during visits to assigned area.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Diploma is required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of two years demonstrated relevant experience, in relevant technical area and/or in activity design and management (i.e., civil society engagement, political science, law, journalism, development management, conflict resolution or related areas).
- A minimum of two years of working with national level institutions, civil society, and/or other stakeholders in northern Sudan is required. Experience engaging with community-based organizations in the FPA’s area of focus is preferred, along with an up-to-date understanding and knowledge of political and social conditions in the assigned area.
- Proven experience in communications/outreach, reporting and analysis is strongly preferred.
- Fluent Arabic and working level proficiency in English language skills required. Proficiency in other languages spoken in northern Sudan is desirable but not required.
- Basic computer literacy is required, including familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), email, etc.
- Strong interpersonal skills are required, as are strong written and spoken communications skills.
- Successful candidates must be able to manage multiple priorities and should be able and willing to work independently with remote supervision.
