 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide reliable and secure driving services and ensure proper use of vehicles for transporting authorized personnel to perform project activities. 
  • Assist passengers in embarking and disembarking to and from the vehicle, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Safely drive assigned office vehicles by following set rules and regulations; maintain and update vehicle logs for fuel usage, daily trips and mileage.
  • Receive parcels and documents for transport and ensure that they are safely transported to their destinations.
  • Maintain frequent contact with the dispatch team or team member to ensure that he or she is made aware of delivery or transport situation.
  • Perform daily inspections on all assigned vehicles, at the beginning of each shift.
  • Ensure that all cars are properly cleaned and maintained and that any need for repairs is outlined and reported.
  • Perform both preventative and regular maintenance on assigned vehicles and ensure that proper detailing is performed.
  • Use standard maps or GPS to map safe routes to destinations, ensuring that timelines are met.
  • Ensure the availability of all required documents, supplies and spare parts including first aid kits, insurance cards as well as registration papers inside the vehicle at all times. 
  • Perform arrangements for renewal of vehicles licenses and insurance as well as registration of new vehicles including comprehensive and third-party insurance.
  • In case of an incident involving the vehicle, take the necessary steps as required by law and TCC regulations and policies, and provide a timely report of such incident to the relevant member of the management.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Secondary school education. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Recent medical examination including eye test.
  • 5 years’ work experience as a driver; safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair.
  • Driving experience with INGOs and or UN organizations preferred.
  • Fluency in Arabic required, and any level of English language is an advantage.
