 Background:

The Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) has a vacancy in Khartoum, Sudan for the position of National Programme Assistant

 Duties and responsibilities:

Programmatic Responsibilities

  • Assist the EISA Sudan programme with administrative and programmatic assigned tasks
  • Assist with the maintenance of the programme filing system
  • Assist in updating the EISA website and social media pages by reporting monthly events to the webmaster
  • Provide assistance as needed with research, and drafting reports
  • Co-ordinate and prepare materials for meetings and training sessions and other project activities logistical and administrative arrangements for conferences, trainings and other office-related events
  • Prepare activity budgets and monitor implementation of the budgets
  • Compile and maintain a database of EISA consultants and partners
  • Attend meetings and represent EISA as requested by the EISA Sudan Country Director related to EISA’s work
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Country Director Sudan

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education

  • Degree in relevant social sciences or a related discipline from a recognised academic institution of higher learning

 

Experience

  • At least two years of experience in the area of elections
  • Experience in organising seminars, workshops and conferences and preparing workshop/conference reports

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to work as part of a team and adhere to deadlines and set priorities
  • Written and verbal communication skills;
  • Good interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills;
  • Knowledge of administration procedures including budget preparation and management;
  • Availability to work weekends
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Access.

 

Languages

  • Written and spoken fluency in Arabic and English

  • Willing to travel internationally
