Background:
DT Global (DTG) is an implementing partner for USAID Project – Toward Enduring Peace in Sudan (TEPS).
|
|
Duties and responsibilities:
The Finance Assistant will support the timely and accurate implementation of all the administration and financial procedures in the headquarter office in Khartoum. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Process petty cash payments & verify the accuracy of financial documentations received, including math check, legibility, and project relation before making the payments

Ensuring all disbursements are supported by compliant receipts. If receipts are not in English, ensuring a clear written English description appears on each receipt.

Maintaining the Khartoum SDG secondary account cash log-book

Produces weekly outstanding advances report and follows up regarding the liquidation/clearance

Ensuring adequate level of cash in KHT secondary Account

Prepares weekly/daily vouchers of financial transactions for our KHT office & sub offices

Makes sure all financial transactions vouchers support documents are completed, translated, checked and approved before entering to Quickbooks

Maintains data entries for quick books for field/Khartoum offices accounts

Scans finance transactions with supporting documents numbered with Quickbooks journal serial numbers and saves them in respective month FOER folder.

Liaises with programme department and gets grants agreements copies

Hands cheques to Suppliers / vendors as per AIS procedures

Serves as Khartoum HQ link with other departments in terms of receiving/sending documents

Receive all prepares WERF’s for Khartoum /field staff and confirms location rate/ receipts & scans/sends back approved WERF to the field offices

Coordinates with HR on payroll documents for all offices to ensure they are scanned & sent to HQ on time

Keeps index of filling system for all DT Global finance documents

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
-
BA/BS in Finance or Accounting
-
One (1) to two (2) years of experience working for an NGO and/or development organization on a development/disaster assistance program
-
Experience in financial management, budgeting, financial reporting, and procurement processes
-
Knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel applications
-
The ability to quickly solve problems in a fast-paced environment
-
Accounting and bookkeeping skills
-
Proficiency in written and spoken English
