 Background:

The GIZ Project “Employment Initiative Khartoum” is aiming at improving the employment perspective for refugees and host communities in Khartoum by providing employment-oriented qualification measures and by promoting private sector development initiatives.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting project in gender mainstreaming in TVET and private sector development
  • Support the empowerment of women in access to vocational education and business establishment and development
  • Build up partnerships and networks for women employment, start-ups, entrepreneurship initiatives
  • Support the inclusion of women in TVET and private sector development with IDP/refugee background

 

Tasks

  • Support partners in Khartoum to tailor-made business development services to women from local population and IDP/refugees
  • Support relevant stakeholders in the creation of employment opportunities for women
  • Support gender mainstreaming activities in both TVET and private sector development measures of the project and the project partners
  • Drafting reports, articles and other written documents in English and Arabic;
  • Support incoming internal and external consultants related to gender issues

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Diploma in areas of business economics, development studies, gender studies or similar fields;
  • Proven experience in gender equality/women’s empowerment
  • Extensive knowledge of private sector development and vocational education
  • Knowledge and experience in entrepreneurship promotion
  • Experience in working within international teams
  • Experience working with IDPs/refugees would be an asset
  • Very good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office, Excel);
  • Excellent English and Arabic communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
