Duties and responsibilities:

Monitor multiple news and media sources for different political, social and economic updates relevant for the USAID/OTI TNS program and summarize them on a weekly and bi-weekly basis. Frequency of updates can be changed at any time during the life of the program.

Closely analyze Sudan’s rapidly changing environment on an ongoing basis and provide bi-weekly updates summarizing the integration of these updates and the implications on the program. Frequency of updates can be changed at any time during the life of the program.

Use the Activity Database to monitor activity updates, in close coordination with other Grants Management Unit team members, and summarize them on a weekly and bi-weekly basis. Frequency of updates can be changed at any time during the life of the program.

Prepare different information pieces relevant for USAID/OTI, including but not limited to quarterly reports, semi-annual reports, annual reports, success stories, thematic r ad-hoc reports, etc.

Contribute to rolling assessments, strategic review sessions, and recurring meetings, under the overall direction of the country representative.

Work closely with Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) to document lessons learned and active programming.

Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Reports directly to the Chief of Party.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Three to five years of relevant experience required.

Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic are required. Excellent written English skills are required.

Strong organizational, management and administrative skills, preferably with respect to report writing and monitoring and evaluation.

Demonstrated analytical ability and understanding of local and regional political context, with the ability to think creatively in conceptualizing relevant grant activities.

Proven knowledge of Sudan’s social, political and economic landscape, including key governmental actors and stakeholders.

An up-to-date understanding and knowledge of the political environment and social conditions in country and the surrounding region.

Experience in working with local organizations on research, analysis and reporting duties preferred.

Experience and/or good understanding of donor organizations preferred.

Ability to effectively use computer software including the OTI Activity Database and MS Office application applications.
-
Ability/willingness to travel throughout Sudan.
