Muslim Aid's Sudan Country office (MASCO) was set up in 1991 in response to the strategic need and to enable the continuation of effective aid work in the country. Currently, Muslim Aid is implementing projects in Kassala, Central Darfur and Red Sea State , Algazieera State , Gdarief State in Sudan.

Summary of the role:

 

The field officer will be lead person to work in the camp in close coordination of Project Manager. He/she will be responsible for managing cooks, helper, guards and other staff at the camp and will ensure timely implementation of the activities at the field level. He/she will coordinate with the Project Manager on daily basis for the case load and the support required. The incumbent will work closely with COR and other key actors and ensure quality implementation of the Wet Feeding project.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Oversees the entire kitchen operations; manages and supervises the kitchen staff in the daily kitchen operations;
  • Manages and supervises the workers ( cooks, Helpers, cleaners, Guards and other workers) in the central kitchen and within the camp supporting the program;
  • Together with the Kitchen Staff, conducts weekly, opening and closing inventory;
  • Serves as the kitchen manager for the camp allocated;
  • Coordinates with the Kassala Sub Office Procurement Staff regarding feeding-related purchases;
  • Coordinates with various internal and external stakeholders of the program including but not limited to Camp Coordinators, COR, local government unit and external volunteers;
  • Handles the monitoring and gathering of important data necessary for the feeding program;
  • Prepares and submits timely monthly progress reports and other relevant reports related to the program;
  • Closely coordinates with the Project Coordinator on all feeding related activities;
  • Delegates and keeps track of the documentation of daily feeding operations;
  • Assist the Project Coordinator and Program Manager and/or M&E Officer in the preparation of reports and/or promotional materials related to the feeding program;
  • Makes recommendation to the Project Coordinator towards the continuous improvement of the program;
  • Participates in the monthly/periodical meeting and other activities related to the feeding program;
  • Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative relationships with colleagues;
  • Receiving and take care of supply and materials. With clear and real supply  consumption  report. 
  • Any other duty assigned by the supervisor
  • Muslim Aid has a right to transfer staff from one location to the other depending on the needs of the program

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Diploma and or secondary school certificate.
  • Experience on project management and coordination is an advantage; 
  • Social development experience is an advantage; 
  • Ability to effectively plan, implement, monitor and evaluate Daily schedule.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders (school personnel, parents, students, colleagues, LGU, private institutions);
  • Excellent coordination skills;
  • Ability to adapt to change and develop strategies to meet current and future needs; and,
  • Must be thorough and prompt in submitting progress reports
