DT Global is hiring for a new USAID program that aims to support the new government, civil society organizations and independent media to advance key transition processes. DT Global (former AECOM) seeks a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Assistant to support a USAID-funded program in Sudan.  The MEL Assistant will report to the MEL Officer. 

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage the program’s MEL efforts to ensure that M&E is fully integrated into the project’s activity development cycle, including design of activity M&E plans, leading the collection and analysis of M&E data, and reporting M&E results.
  • Work closely with Program Development Officers to ensure that M&E plans are executed in a timely manner and on a regular basis.
  • Collect, analyze, and systematize feedback on individual activities or clusters of activities. Ensure that consistent monitoring and relevant reporting are taking place in appropriate sections of the online project database at each stage of project development, implementation, and closeout.
  • Assist project staff in drafting impact and result summaries for active grants. 
  • Assist program staff, and grantees if necessary, with report preparation to ensure that reports capture results and impact, not only volume of activity.
  • Work with relevant staff to develop data collection plans and questionnaires to evaluate achievement of activity objectives.
  • Assist in identifying activities or clusters that require external evaluation.
  • Compile M&E data, conduct analysis, draw conclusions on activity impact, and make recommendations to improve program performance.
  • Assist the PDO in the submission of the final evaluation report for activities.
  • Contribute to communications products, from weekly reports, to snapshots, to targeted presentations and reports.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required.
  • Minimum three years of work experience required.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic required.
  • Strong organizational, management and administrative skills.
  • Good analytical ability and knowledge of project objectives to develop appropriate monitoring and evaluation plans, identify clusters, and analyze monitoring and evaluation data.
  • Experience with gathering and analyzing data for the purposes of project or activity implementation is strongly preferred. Demonstrated analytical ability and capacity to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to maintain a rapid and demanding pace of work are required.
  • Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, partner institutions including international and local NGOs, governmental entities, support organizations, and the general public.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to prioritize multiple work assignments, to meet deadlines, and to exercise good, professional judgment that communicates the established message of the project.
  • Working proficiency in office computer applications, including MS Word, and Excel.
