Duties and responsibilities:

Support transparent systems for choosing IT vendors that are compliant with donor regulations.

Maintains inventory list for IT equipment and ensures that all end users are recorded in compliance with donor rules and regulations.

Implement anti-virus and information security strategies as needed and under Information Operation Manager’s supervision, and assist staff as needed in use of anti-virus software and protocols for computers.

Troubleshoot and maintain internet connectivity, e-mail delivery, monitor bandwidth usage, and recommend upgrades when required.

Support Operations Manager in maintenance of user permissions, software installation, CD- Rom, zip drive and other IT resource usage.

Respond to staff service calls and requests as a first line of technical support, gathering information to resolve problems.

Support Operations Manager to perform and maintain basic network functions, including daily backups, file restoration, and UPS operational checks.

Troubleshoot printing and other IT-related problems, and arrange for external support if needed.

Assist staff as needed with file conversion from other formats, and other basic IT needs.

Undertake other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.

Minimum three years of experience in IT systems required.

Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, partner institutions including international and local NGOs, governmental entities, support organizations, and the general public.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to prioritize multiple work assignments in an extremely fast-paced environment, to meet deadlines, and to exercise good, professional judgment that reflects positively on the image and communicates the established program message of the project.

Demonstrated knowledge of local IT service providers and IT infrastructure requirements in Sudan.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required. Other software skills such as GIS, SPSS, etc. highly desirable.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, to prioritize multiple work assignments in an extremely fast-paced environment, to meet deadlines.

Employee will be required to travel within Sudan to regional office locations.

High proficiency in written and spoken English and fluency in Arabic is required.
