DT Global is hiring for a new USAID program that aims to support the new government, civil society organizations and independent media to advance key transition processes. DT Global seeks a Finance Manager to supervise all financial management aspects of a USAID-funded program in Sudan.  The Finance Manager’s tasks include preparation and tracking of budgets; budget projections; timely payments to vendors and consultants, daily recording of all expenses, and weekly or bi-weekly reporting of transactions to DT Global (former AECOM) headquarters.

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manage project and field accounting systems and internal day-to-day financial operations;
  • Prepare payroll for project employees on a monthly basis;
  • Supervise, train, and mentor the accountant(s);
  • Manage and monitor project bank accounts, safe, and petty cash funds;
  • Review all local financial transactions (including petty cash, vendor payments etc.) into project’s accounting system;
  • Ensure that all back-up supporting documentation and approvals are available before issuing any payment.
  • Ensure all financial documentation is filed in both hard copy and scanned and saved in project digital files;
  • Ensure local financial reporting requirements are completed and performed in a timely manner;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Advanced degree in relevant field, such as accounting, commerce, or business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting and administrative support.
  • Experience working with Sudan financial/tax/legal requirements, working experience on USAID projects and familiarity with USAID rules and regulations preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting systems and software applications, such as, MS Word and MS Excel; experience with Quicken accounting software preferred. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with colleagues, visitors, and the general public.
  • Fluent Arabic is required, English proficiency is acceptable, although English fluency is strongly preferred.
