Flying ICT Specialist

 Background:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist victims of armed conflict and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for the position of Flying ICT Specialist for its Sub-delegation in Elfashir.

 

Purpose:

The Flying ICT Specialist will be based in Elfashir, manages and organizes all ICT systems and services in the ICRC sub structures in Darfur. S/he assists the ICT Manager in designing and installing ICT infrastructure in the ICRC sub structures in Darfur.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

·         Ensures ICT inventory is updated regularly and maintains adequate stocks levels.

·         Ensures existing ICT infrastructure is functional.

·         Ensures that global/country-level policies and procedures are implemented and followed.

·         Briefs, advises and trains end-users on the ICRC's ICT systems.

·         Maintains ICT stock and inventory, carries out regular physical checks.

·         Drafts and updates technical documentation for all IT equipment.

·         Carries out the duties of ICT Specialist 1 when s/he is absent.

·         May be called upon to manage and train ICT teams.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, electronics, computer science or similar field.

·         Additional vocational training in IT, electronics, telecommunication or similar field an asset.

·         3–4 years' troubleshooting experience in an area of the ICT service catalogue (e.g. workplace services, telecommunications, IT, help desk, etc.).

·         1 year of people-management experience a strong asset.

·         Very good ICT knowledge.

·         Good command (spoken and written) of English and Arabic.

·         Readiness to spend 50-75% of the time in other ICRC sub structures

·         Driving license, succeeded in ICRC driving test 

 

·         Skilled in the following competencies: Leadership, Accountability, People management, Team work & Collaboration, Representing the ICRC, Beneficiary & Client focused.
