 Background:

MSF – Switzerland is looking for qualified candidates to fill the vacancy mentioned herewith, given that the working location is: MSF East Darfur - Kario refugee Camp.

MIDWIFE SUPERVISOR

Work location:      East Darfur - Kario refugee Camp

Gross salary: 943 USD per month

Duration of Contract:  Six Months

 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure provision of quality sexual and reproductive health services in Kario PHC
  • Ensure appropriate management of maternity and newborn cases, timely identification of referrals for cases not manageable in Kario in collaboration with MwAM
  • Identify training needs, prepare and deliver trainings to midwives/assistant in SRH department according to MSF protocols in collaboration with MwAM and Expat midwife supervisor             
  • In collaboration with MwAM and Expat midwife supervisor ensure accurate data collection, analysis and reports for SRH department are timely submitted to data officer, MAM,PMR (weekly, monthly and quarterly).        
  • Close collaboration with HP supervisor giving/receiving feedback from health gaps identified from cases admitted in SRH depart/information gathered from the community. Will be involved in giving reproductive health promotion talks, creating awareness on the various health services offered in the department/gaps to the community in conjunction with HP team.
  • 100% of sexual violence survivors receive comprehensive medical care according to MSF SGBV protocols
  • Monitoring the rational use of medical items/equipments,using the unit consumption sheet preparing SRH weekly order after performing the unit inventory, timely and accurate in collaboration with the MwAM, Expat midwife supervisor and Organize for departmental meetings to discuss department achievements and challenges to promote a healthy and conducive working environment for the midwives/assistant
  • In close collaboration with MwAM, Expat midwife supervisor, Coordinate and monitor the daily working plan of the team under their responsibility (absent personnel, vacations, plan and tracking leaves ...). Participating in roaster preparation, shifts
  • Planning and supervising, in close coordination with the MwAM/ Expat midwife supervisor and HR department, the associated processes (training, performance evaluation, development and internal communication) of the staff under her responsibility in order to improve staff capabilities and to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required
  • In close collaboration with MwAM and Expat midwife supervisor participate in filling and updating of midwives logbooks
  • Participating in the monthly reports according to guidelines (i.e. SitReps, medical statistical reports, etc.)

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education:

  • Diploma/Degree in Midwifery (3 years study). Must be registered by the Sudan midwifery board. Active license to practice.

 

Experience:

  • At least 1 years’ experience in a supervisory role as a midwife
  • Experience in training other midwives
  • Experience in compiling data and writing department report
  • Previous experience with iNGO an asset

 

Languages:

  • English (spoken and written), National language
