 Background:

World Vision Khartoum seeking to recruit qualified (Grant Accountant) based in Khartoum.

 

Purpose of the position:

Provide overall leadership in monitoring and control of project budget to make sure that expenses are in line with approved budget. To manage the project budget as per the grant agreement and cash flow and comply with the grant requirements. To manage the project bank account as stipulated in FFM.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • To continually revise project cash flows as per the DIP and implementation progress as well as the receipts from the donor.
  • To review the project payment documents with regard to documentation, coding and payee and generate payment vouchers.
  • To request cash transfer based on expense projection and reconciles bank account with ledger on monthly basis.
  • Follow up for the preparation of LDRs and reconcile entries with project staff numbers.
  • Analyze project receivable and payable accounts, and clear out wrong entries on monthly basis.
  • Provide supervise to the project cashier, review petty cash entries and make sure that vendor checks are prepared and submitted on time.
  • Track fund given to sub-grantees and make sure that financial procedures are followed and funds are accounted for. Identify capacity gaps and provide necessary trainings.
  • Analyze project expenses vis-à-vis budget of the same period and submit analysis report for over/under expenditure to the project director on monthly basis.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance, Accounting field of finance or accounting.
  • Requires a minimum of 2years experience working in finance with international organizations (INGOs).
  • Must have a proven knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and a practical knowledge of financial systems and internal controls.
  • Willing to travel to the field like South Darfur, Blue Nile and other states where WV Sudan has operations
  • Require proven knowledge and experience in accounting packages especially sun systems, spreadsheet applications and an understanding of data processing concepts and systems.
  • Hands on experience on Sun systems version 6 or Sun plus or Sun 6 cloud will be added advantage
  • Must have skills and ability to organize and conduct trainings.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be a person of integrity with good record in work relationship

 

 Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: Office-based with frequent travel to local organizations offices
