 Background:

Established in 2015, the Institute for Reproductive Health and Rights is a not-for-profit professional institution operating as a social enterprise committed to promoting the reproductive and sexual well-being of all Sudanese people with special attention to women, girls, youth and minorities.

The Sudan Free of FGC program is one of four programs of the Institute. The other three are:

  • The Reproductive Health Program
  • Reproductive Justice and Bodily Rights Program
  • Art for Change Program

 Duties and responsibilities:

The SFFGC Program Manager is responsible for the three areas of activity of the Institute’s work on Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting which are:

  1. Material development which includes researching and explaining scientific facts and developing counseling methods appropriate to various individuals and groups.
  2. AnaLan, The Sudanese Youth Initiative to stop Khitan, including overseeing social media presence and production of artistic and cultural content
  1. The “One Million Voices Campaign” to stop Khitan, including reaching out to engage different institutions, organisations and individuals to sign on to the campaign and tracking the data collected from various activities and events.
     

The PM will also be directly responsible for overseeing a major project funded by the government of Canada which expands the program to five states in Sudan. The PM is also responsible for fulfilling all reporting, monitoring and evaluations requirements of this and other donors.
 

The SFFGC/PM will be a managing a team of 2-3 staff and 4-5 state coordinators as well as consultants. She/he reports to the Deputy Director

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • A university degree in medicine, sociology, psychology or other relevant fields
  • A master’s degree is desirable but not required
  • At least three yearsof experience in project management
  • Excellent command of both Arabic and English writing and public speaking
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to lead a team
  • Able to travel widely within and outside Sudan
  • We are looking for a self-motivated individual able to add creative new ideas to our work

This is a full time position Saturday to Wednesday

The salary is competitive and is linked to experience and proven skills.
