 Background:

The Partnership Officer role is to help weave collaborative and supportive relations that enable CARE to effectively full fill its mission and specific objectives. s/he will identify and nurture such relations focusing primarily on funding, program development and communications. The partnership Officer will work closely with Program Development Quality Coordinator (PDQC) and Program director to support the review, development and implementation of the CARE Partnership strategy

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Some of the duties  include but  not limited to:

  • Provides strategic assistance to in developing strategies and processes as well as in initiating and enhancing partnership relationships with national NGOS, private sector, universities and associations.
  • Supports projects in partnering processes: exploration, Due Diligence Assessment, budgeting for specific capacity building activities
  • Supports program and program support staff to work and interact with partners for effective partnership and mutual benefit
  • Provides input to the development of partnering strategies and planning, as well as report to Senior Management Committee (SMC) and Board on issues related to donor funding;
  • Plans and coordinates regular partnership forums at state as well as Khartoum levels
  • Organizes supportive visits to each partner on a regular basis involving different levels
  • Keep up to date records and alert key events per agreements; organizing capacity support activities for partners, & also CARE staff; monitoring quality of CARE and Partner relations and outputs; ensuring quality and timely submission of reports to donors and Government.
  • A key responsibility areas of the PO is to facilitate the implementation of key program quality elements and partnership principles across engaged partners.
  • Deliverables: quarterly partners performance report; DDA as appropriate; partners dash board; partners and program related SGA documentation; partners visit report

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor degree in rural development, social science, business management, economics or relevant field
  • Four years program experience in NGOS
  • Experience in managing partners in program delivery (both strategic and transactional)
  • Three to five years experience in establishing and maintaining contacts
  • Ability to organize and support work from multiple partners to deliver agreed goals
  • Capacity strengthening facilitation skills (needs assessment, training, coaching etc)
  • Strong knowledge and experience of gender and diversity standards
  • Action Oriented, Creativity, Customer Focus, Managing diversity, Interpersonal Savvy, Peer Relations
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project operational locations outside Khartoum to support partners operations.
  • Exposure to technical skills in WASH, health, nutrition, governance and FSL
  • Highly organized, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a fluid environment
  • Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English (written, spoken)
  • Computer skills and practice with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. required
  • Team-working skills; and ability to communicate effectively in internal and external settings
