Muslim Aid is a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters, conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy. It was established in the United Kingdom in 1985 in response to the drought in the Horn of Africa. Muslim Aid's Sudan Country office (MASCO) was set up in 1991 in response to the strategic need and to enable the continuation of effective aid work in the country. Currently, Muslim Aid is implementing projects in Kassala, Central Darfur and Red Sea State , Algazieera State , Gdarief State in Sudan.

 Background:

Muslim Aid – Sudan is seeking to recruit a suitable qualified Sudanese national for the position of Admin/ICT Assistant based in Khartoum.

The Admin/ICT Assistant will assist with general administrative, logistical and ICT support according to the duties and responsibilities listed below. Under the direct supervision of the Head of Operations in Khartoum Office, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for increasing operational efficiency within the Khartoum Office and MA sub offices.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Operations

  • Receive supplies arrive and distribute appropriately;
  • Manage payments for office utilities and maintain a tracking register to ensure on time payments of the same;
  • Maintain a cheque register and ensure suppliers are notified when their payments are ready for collection;
  • Oversee utilization of office supplies and ensure replenishment of the same;
  • Data entry as and when required;
  • Translation of documents from Arabic to English for office use;
  • Maintain an up to date accessible filing system for the Operations unit;
  • Coordinate interviews and orientation for new staff members;
  • Cover HR and Logistics in their absence;
  • In collaboration with the Logistics Officer, maintain office inventory and carry out quarterly inventory account;
  • Prepare requisitions and liaise with logistics officer;
  • Coordinate the repair and maintenance of all MA property with the Logistics Officer
  • Assist in procurement activities including bidding and selection of process of vendors;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned.

 

ICT

  • Enhance office ICT systems through appropriate upgrade and advice the operations; unit on changes or improvements required;
  • Help install and support of all ICT hardware and software;
  • Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment;
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all network and computer related issues;

In collaboration with MA-London ICT ensure integration and configuration of ICT systems in the office for best performance


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • A degree in Business Administration, ICT, Telecommunications or a related field from a recognized institution with at least some relevant professional experience;
  • Working knowledge of both English and Arabic is required (both written and spoken);
  • Excellent computer skills and competence with Microsoft Office environment;
  • Good conceptual, presentation and communication skills;
  • Excellent team working skills;
  • Willingness to travel to MA – sub offices and project areas as required;
  • Demonstrable willingness to learn and resourceful attitude;
  • Must be a Sudanese National.
