 Background:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist victims of armed conflict and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for the position of Premises Manager 2 for its delegation in Khartoum.

Purpose:

​ Premises Manager 2 manages the department in charge of ICRC premises and infrastructure within a delegation.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Participates in determining accommodation and office space needs and identifies premises accordingly.
  • Analyses the set-up of the premises, including passive security measures in place, and proposes corrective measures where necessary. Takes part in drawing up lease agreements.
  • Coordinates maintenance of all premises and infrastructure.
  • Supervises the department in charge of premises and infrastructure. Trains and supervises the staff and organizes their work.
  • Contributes to establishing housing policy.
  • Deals with external contacts, service providers and suppliers. Coordinates maintenance jobs carried out by external providers.
  • Supervises and controls premises/maintenance-related expenses and service costs.
  • Supervises the ordering or purchasing of necessary material and supplies, in coordination with logistics staff, and maintains relevant stocks.
  • Manage security service contracts with complete transparency and professionalism, in consultation with Admin and ICT departments.
  • Supervises security guards, including administrative matters related to their management (if required).
  • Keeps proper related files and statistics.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Post graduate higher education degree in business administration, premises management, architecture, engineering or any related field. Master’s Degree, Doctorate or Professional Degree is an asset.
  • 6-8 years of experience in administration, premises management, engineering, security management or any similar position
  • Good knowledge of the assigned environment and its cultural aspects.
  • Fluent command of English and Arabic;
  • Computer proficiency/expert level in computer skills;
  • Very good analytical skills
  • Driving license, succeeded in ICRC driving test
  • Skilled in the following competencies: Leadership, Accountability, People management, Team work & Collaboration, Representing the ICRC, Beneficiary & Client focused.
