 Background:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist victims of armed conflict and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for the position of Trainer for its delegation in Khartoum.

 

Purpose:

​The Trainer drives and implements learning and development programmes according to set objectives for the region and contributes to deciding learning programmes’ strategic orientations and evolution.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Carries out and provides support for learning and development programs.
  • Contributes to designing, developing and evaluating learning and development programs.
  • Contributes to carrying out and analyzing learning needs evaluations with delegations.
  • Contributes to planning and developing the regional learning and development budget, annual planning and training programs.
  • Contributes to formulating regional priorities and strategies for learning and development.
  • Contributes to the administrative and logistical organization of learning and development programs.
  • Carries out evaluation and reporting related to their learning programs.
  • Supervises and coaches their assigned course coordinator.
  • Liaises with Administration and other departments for all the training needs (Focal Point).
  • Provides support to other LnD units and other ICRC delegations.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Post Graduate or equivalent higher education degree in business administration, management, HR, education or social sciences; Post Graduate or Master`s Degree is an asset.
  • 6-9 years of experience in training design and delivery at another organization or company.
  • Training experience an asset; must undertake specialized training in learning and development delivery within one year of taking on the role.      
  • Fluent in English and Arabic both spoken and written.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Readiness to spend 50-75% of the time out of the country
  • Skilled in the following competencies: Networking & Communication; Adapting & Learning; Responsibility & Autonomy; Communication (ability to express views and ideas); Analysis & Synthesis; Security Management
