Duties and responsibilities:

Receives verbal assignments and instructions together with dimensional sketches and working plans from facility In-charge, Inspects electrical circuits or appliances and determines extent of work required.

Diagnoses, repairs and tests circuit or wiring faults. Measures electrical tolerances, locates faults in underground cables and arranges splicing and jointing repairs, checks wiring of electrical motors, reversible winches, generators, air compressors, etc. and ensures that all connection points and cables are capable of withstanding capacity voltages etc.

Performs installation, maintenance and repair work on all types of electrical appliances.

Revises existing systems and equipment in accordance with revised blueprints, drawings, work orders or verbal instructions.

Ensures all electrical installation and maintenance work is performed in accordance with regulations. Includes ensuring the installation of safety devices such as fuses, circuit breakers, over-current and under-voltage protection devices, and temperature rise protection measures are properly installed , with proper safety margins, and the proper earthing of all systems and appliances to prevent shock. Also checks conformity to safe repair procedures.

Carries out other related duties such as preparing rough diagrams and estimates for impending work, maintaining and using test equipment, keeping job sites clean and tidy, salvaging materials and re-conditioning where possible, observing all fire and safety regulations, maintaining tools and equipment in good order, etc.

Represents the interest of the company in matters relating to technical matters with suppliers, operators, and regulating authorities.

Responsible to comply with the applicable laws, regulations and procedures of NAS and customers

Responsible for exercising due diligence towards Health & Safety of self & others in the organization and also environmental protection.

Responsible for Safety & Quality of the function/ Task performed.

Responsible for reporting to his superiors' occurrences, events, violations and acts that may affect safety, security and company reputation.
