Treasury Manager

Job Purpose:
Treasury manager plays a vital role in improving and maintaining the financial standing of a company such as managing cash and liquidity, arranging required funding, advising different investment scenarios, and managing financial risks in an organization.  He/she is required to assess, monitor, plan and manage the efficient utilization of cash and financial services in a manner consistent with the objectives of the Company.

Key Accountabilities

Supervision of Subordinates:

  • Organize and supervise the activities and work of a small team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of Treasury section activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.

Budgets and Plans:

  • Contribute to the preparation working capital plan, cash flow and cash budgets and monitor budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.

Policies, Systems, Processes, & Procedures:

  • Recommend improvements to policy and direct the implementation of instructions covering all areas of cash flow, Foreign currency purchases, bank transfers, borrowing and any other related treasury activities

Day- to-day Operations:

  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of Treasury to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.  

Treasury & liquidity management:

  • Manage daily treasury and cash transactions as per policies and procedures.
  • Manage & ensure safe route for foreign transfers to suppliers / from customers (Imports & exports).
  • Purchase of Foreign currencies needed by the business at competitive rate vs. market.
  • Manage the treasury function by developing and managing a daily & monthly corporate cash reporting (available cash balances, customers’ credit facilities, cash budget, Borrowing, disbursements, cash surplus & deficit ….)
  • Evaluate, develop and implement cash management systems to optimize efficiencies in managing company cash.

Funding & Borrowing:

  • Negotiating loans and credit facilities with Banks until finalizing the agreements to ensure availability of credit lines that cover all Business needs (Working capital & CAPEX).
  • Evaluate alternative borrowing strategies and make recommendations in accordance with the capital structure guidelines.
  • Conduct benchmark studies of banks - their services & charges – to evaluate whether it fits company’s requirements.
  • Provide guidance on special financial products such as Lease model & export program.

Risk management:

  • Manage the Forex Exposure and ensure the availability of foreign currency at competitive rate.
  • Provide feasibility study & recommendations on financial matters/risks impacting the company
  • Standardize the internal policies and controls by establishing and monitoring department objectives, standards, guidelines, and budget to assist in achieving proper management and controls of treasury activities.
  • Mange Insurance of the BU and ensure competitive rates and outstanding services as required by the company (Property, marine, Fidelity, products in transit ….. etc.).

Standards & Regulations:

  • Ensure that all activities are monitored and regulatory compliance audits and inspections are conducted for an effective implementation of regulatory standards.

Projects:

  • Supervise the implementation of projects to ensure that the project cycle is completed, meeting agreed project parameters (cost budget, timelines, scope and quality), standards and objectives

Continuous Improvement:

  • Stimulate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of section systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Reporting

  • Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate reports of Treasury, cash flow and liquidity to meet Savola and department requirements, policies and standards.

Health, Safety, & Environment

  • Monitor the adherence to all relevant safety and environmental management procedures and controls to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Related Assignments

  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor degree in finance / Commerce, Professional certificate (MBA, CFA) are preferable.
  • Experience: 6-8 years relevant experience in Banking including at least 2 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
  • Language: Fluent English and Arabic.
