Job Summary & Major Responsibilities:  

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for Plan’s programs in Maternal, Child and Sexual Reproductive Health, Nutrition and WASH impact areas. Act as technical reference person and represent Plan in all relevant fora and meetings.
  • Work closely with business Development team on proposal writing to increase Plan’s portfolio in Sudan; ensuring that all projects are aligned to the Country Strategy according to GoS policies and strategies by developing tools and guidance.
  • Document Plan’s best practices and draw lessons on gender transformative program activities with communities in collaboration with PQ manager
  • Expand Plan’s work on IMCI, ECD, IYCF, CLTS…etc across Plan’s geographic areas and contribute to influence other stakeholders beyond.
  • Budget management responsibility at country level according to annual plan; consolidating and analysing all Health/WASH project budgets outputs and advising project managers and CMT of achievements and issues on regular basis.
  • Possess thorough understanding of global developments on MNH/SRHR and in particular follow trends and updates from WHO, UNICEF and UNFPA and ensure alignment of the project with both international and national education MNH/SRH priorities and plans.
  • Production of baseline, rapid internal mid-term and end of project assessments (including gender and adolescents), monitoring and evaluation reports and dissemination.
  • Ensure Plan’s global policies on Child Protection and Gender Equality are in place.

Required Experience, Skills and Knowledge:    

  • Medical Doctor, Doctor in Pharmacy with program management experience and/or Master in Public Health Degree with field experience Professional experience
  • At least 5 years of experience leading, managing and implementing large international development projects in community based maternal new born health, adolescent programming, sexual & reproductive health rights, nutrition
  • Interacting with Government donor agencies, host country governments, and other relevant stakeholders
  • Demonstrated knowledge on Gender, Development, and Rights of the Child
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills
  • Excellent reporting, influencing, facilitation and problem-solving skills
  • Creative, sets a strong learning culture, results-driven, aware of impact on others and adjust own behavior accordingly.

Salary and Benefits:
Plan offers a very competitive salary and benefits package to its employees. The employee shall receive a gross salary of 1,652  in USD. Plan also offers different allowances including health insurance, one month’s gross salary during Eid-ul Fitr, and an educational allowance (equivalent to one month’s gross salary) at the start of every school year to support the education of our staffs’ children.
