Job Summary & Major Responsibilities:  

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for Plan’s programs in Education and Early Childhood development.  Act as technical reference person for education & ECD sectors and represent Plan in all relevant fora and meetings.
• Work closely with business Development team on proposal writing to increase Plan’s portfolio in Sudan; ensuring that all projects are aligned to the Country Strategy according to GoS policies and strategies.
• Oversee all portfolios handled by education project managers and develop tools and guidance proactively to have a consistent way of implementing Plan’s approaches and strategies in Sudan
• Expand Plan’s work on ECD, SIP, safe school, EiE, Aflatoon, Reflect, ALP …etc across Plan’s geographic areas and contribute to influence other stakeholders beyond.
• Budget management responsibility at country level according to annual plan; consolidating and analyzing all education project budgets outputs and advising project managers and CMT of achievements and issues on regular basis.
• Possess thorough understanding of global developments on Education and ECD and in particular follow trends and updates from UNICEF and MoE and ensure alignment of the project with both international and national education SDG priorities and plans.
• Strategically advise CMT in challenging operational environments during disease-prone disasters (EiE) as well as conducting risk analysis for all education and ECD related projects.

Required Experience, Skills and Knowledge:    

• BSC. In Social education, a master degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience leading, managing and implementing large international development projects in Education and ECD
• Professional experience interacting with Government donor agencies, host country governments, and other relevant stakeholders
• Senior level knowledge of project management within large grant context
• Demonstrated knowledge on Gender, Development, Education and ECD cognitive approaches
• Extensive knowledge on the Rights of the Child, education and nutrition system in Sudan considered an asset
• Excellent written and spoken English skills
• Excellent reporting, influencing, facilitation and problem-solving skills
• Sets a strong learning culture, results-driven, aware of impact on others and adjust own behavior accordingly.

Salary and Benefits:
Plan offers a very competitive salary and benefits package to its employees. The employee shall receive a gross salary of 1,652 in USD. Plan also offers different allowances including health insurance, one month’s gross salary during Eid-ul Fitr, and an educational allowance (equivalent to one month’s gross salary) at the start of every school year to support the education of our staffs’ children.
