Job Summary & Major Responsibilities:  

  • Supervise, coach and mentor the area offices procurement team
  • Ensure compliance with relevant corporate standards as well as GoS regulations and policies (i.e. taxation, registration, etc.)
  • Ensure a transparent and effective procurement system is set across the offices of Plan International in Sudan, as well as support partners to set their system that meets the basic required standards and norms.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of all general services and
  • logistical requirements of program work in line with established procedures e.g.: procurements, storage, transportation and distribution;
  • hire, develop and retain qualified people in all positions of the support services unit as required to support the delivery of effective, efficient and high quality programs;
  • Establish, agree, communicate and monitor standard of performance and behaviors for the support services unit. Team ToR, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPI’s) are agreed annually, and monitored and updated quarterly
  • Ensure Plan International Sudan enter into fair and value for money corporate agreements with relevant service providers, vendors and consultants (i.e. LTAs)
  • Conduct capacity building, market search, mapping and keep updated the list of reliable and reputable main suppliers, vendors and services providers as per Plan International policies and guidelines.
  • Coordinate customs processes for international purchases and ensure the organization seek the required tax and duty exemptions. Follow the procedures required for duty free applications.

Required Experience, Skills and Knowledge:    

  • BSC Business Administration, Economic, or related field with minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • A professional qualification and membership of recognized Procurement Institution.
  • Clear exposure to Emergency contexts.
  • Strong and proven skills in the full range of general procurement policies,  procedures services needs including analysis, procurement, market analysis, logistics, fixed assets management, value for money, ICT4D, etc.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic skills
  • Excellent reporting, negotiation, analytical and logical skills
  • Strongly drives performance forward in area of the business for which they are responsible together with the team
  • Creates a culturally sensitive, strong learning environment.

Salary and Benefits:
Plan offers a very competitive salary and benefits package to its employees. The employee shall receive a gross salary of  787 in USD. Plan also offers different allowances including health insurance, one month’s gross salary during Eid-ul Fitr, and an educational allowance (equivalent to one month’s gross salary) at the start of every school year to support the education of our staffs’ children.
