 Duties and responsibilities:

  • The SSM is a member of the core Country Management Team (CMT) along with other country managers and is expected to contribute to Plan’s understanding and strategic direction in the country. He or she may be asked to deputize for CD, as required and if needed, in relation to external stakeholders
  • The SSM line manages four support services staff in the areas of procurement, administration, ICT and logistics/security
  • The SSM reports regularly to the CD on the management of all risks associated with program delivery including procurement trends, legal compliance, logistics and security
  • The SSM provides technical oversight and support to Program Area offices in managing risks and remaining compliant in the delivery of cost-effective programs
  • The SSM prepares and oversees the operation support services annual budget for the whole operation in Sudan and prepares a regular delivery analysis to the CD and the CMT
  • Upon delegation of the Country Director, the SSM may approve commitments, contracts, grants, leases, disbursements, and transfers to third parties, up to an approved delegated level of authority.

 

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Post-graduate degree (MBA) in Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Relations or related field,
  • Minimum Seven  (7) years’ experience in Operations Managementposition ideally with an international organization
  • Professional qualification & membership of recognized corporate services institution
  • Knowledge  in Work Force Planning, Staff Training and Performance Management
  • Clear exposure to emergency contexts
  • Deep understanding of various support services policies, procedures, practices and excellent technical knowledge on support services areas
  • Knowledge of operational security, procurement, logistics, administration, and ICT/ICT4D in volatile emergency conditions
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills in multicultural contexts
  • Consistency in work and decision-making
  • Strongly driven performance, vision, inter-personal skills
  • Ability to maintain positivity and calmness under pressure and in difficult situations
  • Ability to set a strong learning culture within their team and department

Salary and Benefits:

Plan offers a very competitive salary and benefits package to its employees. The employee shall receive a gross salary of 2500 in USD. Plan also offers different allowances including health insurance, one month’s gross salary during Eid-ulFitr, and an educational allowance (equivalent to one month’s gross salary) at the start of every school year to support the education of our staffs’ children.
