Background:
Operation CONTEXT
The Protection Associate (Mixed Migration) will function under the direct supervision of the Protection Officer (Mixed Migration) for the Sudan operation.
|
|
Duties and responsibilities:
-
Support UNHCR Offices in Khartoum on development and implementation of regional strategies on smuggling, trafficking and onward movement.

Promote harmonized and integrated approaches on asylum/migration related issues, including update the current anti trafficking Strategy through a consultative process with relevant stakeholders.

Ensure effective coordination, liaison and collaboration with relevant internal and external partners on anti-trafficking and mixed migration, including on protection at sea.

Assist in monitoring, gathering and analyzing information on a range of issues related to asylum/migration, including new developments and trends.

Assist with the development of project proposals and explore funding opportunities to implement the mixed migration-related protection strategies.

Assist in reporting and ensure regular information exchange within HQ and across the sub-offices on mixed migratory movements.

Assist in individual cases management.

Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
-
Completion of secondary school; certificate in Law, International Law, political Sciences or related field with good knowledge of International Refugee and Human Rights Law.

Job experience: Relevant to the function: 6 years.

Fluency in English and working knowledge of another relevant UN language or local language.

Diverse field experience desirable
