Hotel Reciptionist

A hotel receptionist is a trained staff whose duties include welcoming guests to the hotel, making reservations for them and attending to their other needs that are instrumental to their comfort during their stay at the hotel.

 Duties and responsibilities:

  1. Welcome and greet guests with great courtesy.
  2. Manage room reservations using a computerized reservations system.
  3. Address guests concerns and special requests in a professional and personable manner.
  4. Ensure that guests are settled comfortably in their rooms, makes necessary adjustments if needed.
  5. Help guests with their things including luggage and other valuables.
  6. Get transport for customers and reservations in local restaurants.
  7. Answer telephone calls and transfers these to guest rooms.
  8. Take and relay telephone messages for hotel guests and others.
  9. Prepare bills, handle and process checkouts, take payments.
  10. Man the hotels business center and other units if necessary.
  11. Communicate with housekeeping and maintenance staff to ensure that great quality service is provided to guests.
  12. Deal with complaints and problems.
  13. Answer queries of guests about various information and services of the hotel.
  14. Do other administrative and hospitable functions assigned from time to time.

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Highly skilled in greeting visitors and directing them to the right person or department.
  • Well-versed in managing guests book and issuing security passes.
  • Exhibit excellent knowledge of customer service.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Must be orderly.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Good crisis management skills.
