 Duties and responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Area Manager (AM) is responsible to provide effective management oversight of the implementation of Save the Children’s programme plans in the Area of Greater Kordofan (North, South, and West) through direct and partner led activities. The post holder firmly manage finance, human resources and operations systems in the area of operation and will ensure effective representation of Save the Children to local authorities, INGOs and NGOS, and in other forums. S/He will ensure high quality child focused programs are delivered reaching to the most vulnerable and at risk children throughout the Area level program / project areas of SCI, ensure quality monitoring, financial, personnel, administrative and partnership management of Area Office, in close consultation with Program Operations Director Ensure Annual Plans are fully aligned with the Country Strategic Plan and SCI’s theory of change. Be responsible for Area level coordination, with governments, UN, donors, NGOs, civil societies for joint advocacy and smooth implementation of programs.  Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

ESSENCIALQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

At least 15 years of experience in leading and managing overall project/program at similar role or senior managerial portfolio at international agencies including 5 years experience working at field level.

 Programme management experience with good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels.

 Solid experience, at least 2 years in grant management, including budget holding and donor reporting.

Experience of working with partners and a participatory approach.
