About Practical Action: 

Practical Action is a British charity established in 1966 with the vision of a sustainable world free of poverty and injustice in which technology is used for the benefit of all. We have been working in Sudan since 1988 and are operational in Blue Nile, North Darfur, and Eastern Sudan, supported by our country office in Khartoum and our Head Office in the UK. We work in the fields of Agriculture for resilience, energy and Rural WASH with markets, gender and climate change cross-cutting all our work.

Job Purpose: 
the M&E and Policies Compliance Officer will be responsible for maintaining operational functions support of the organization, implementing the M&E activities of multi projects and ensures that Board of Directors, management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of the organization, organization policies and procedures are being followed, and that behavior in the organization meet organization Standards of Conduct.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Ensuring the organization complies with its outside regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Responsible for all administrative functions, including operations, management, process improvement, identifying various compliance issues and strategic planning and development.
• Implement improved operational measures and policies that promotes efficiency.
• Communicate with management teams to confirm execution of organization processes.
• Report to and assist Senior Operating and M&E Manager in daily tasks and duties.
• Provide support to all business units including logistics, administrative, IT departments, human resource and financial.
• Ensure that operational activities are executed within allotted budget and timelines.
• Ensure compliance with best business practices throughout organization.
• Monitor all project activities, expenditures and progress towards achieving the project output;
• Strengthen, improve and streamline monitoring and evaluation procedures.
• Provide feedback to the Project Managers on project activities.
• Coordinate data collection and monitoring activities with field implementers and other partners, analyze data collected and draft monitoring reports , Monitor the activities that managed by partner NGOs.
• Monitor the implementation and mainstreaming of gender in the project activities.
• Apply quality control and assurance processes.
• Assist Project Manages on finding lessons learned and innovations.

 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor’s degree preferably in social /natural science discipline or relevant.

KEY COMPETENCES:

• Strategic Orientation
• Good computer skills
• Database Management

 

Essential:

• High analytical skills and depth understanding of operation and support function.
