Premises Maintenance Supervisor

 Background:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral and independent organisation striving to protect and assist victims of armed conflict and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person for the position of Premises Maintenance Supervisor for its delegation in Khartoum.

 

Purpose:

​The Premises Maintenance Supervisor ensures proper maintenance of ICRC premises and equipment and supervises the maintenance team



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the work of the maintenance team and ensures that premises and equipment are properly maintained and that all utilities are working as they should.
  • Trains and supervises maintenance workers and organizes their activities.
  • Supervises and controls maintenance-related expenses for the assigned premises.
  • Deals with external service providers where relevant and coordinates/supervises their work.
  • Orders or purchases any necessary material and supplies, in coordination with logistics staff, and maintains related stock.
  • Keeps proper related files and statistics.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor Degree, some College Coursework Completed, an Associate Degree or equivalent higher education degree in construction, maintenance, engineering, or any similar technical field.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in construction, maintenance, architecture, plumbing, electricity or any similar technical field.
  • Advanced Conversational in English and Arabic.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Administrative experience needed.
  • Driving license, Succeeded in ICRC driving test.
  • Skilled in the following competencies: team work, Adapting & learning; planning, Organization & Assessment; Analysis & Synthesis; responsibility & Autonomy; Supervision & staff management
